This privacy policy sets out how Millercare uses and protects any information that you give Millercare when you use this website.

Millercare are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our website visitors. Most importantly we want you to be aware Millercare does not sell, rent or otherwise share your information for marketing purposes. Us. We’re Millercare Limited but in this notice we call ourselves “We”, “Us” or “Millercare”.

We are responsible (the data controller) for our website, stores and any newsletters and marketing you have signed up for. This notice describes how we use your data to do this.

What data do we collect and how do we use it?

From our website. We use your data to operate and improve your experience on our website.

For some features on our website to work, we need to remember you. For example when you browse our store to order we need to remember which items you have added to basket so we don’t empty your basket when you navigate away to a different page as this is an inherent part of what you ask us to do when clicking add to basket, we don’t ask your consent.

We also use Google Analytics and cookies to track which pages are being visited. This helps us tailor the website to provide a better experience and identify any common causes of frustration found by website visitors.

When you purchase any product through one of our retail stores or online your name, address information, email, contact number, if paying by card then we need to process this data – but we don’t use it for any other purpose and lastly if you are claiming VAT exemption the nature of your disability will be stored in our accounting system. Payment details, contact information and delivery location are required to get your purchase to you.

You can purchase any product in person at one of our retail locations without providing any of this data however we will be unable to provide VAT relief on any eligible products without this information – this is a legal requirement we do not control.

From social media. If you interact with our Facebook page, Twitter page or other social media outlet, we use the information you provide to respond to comments or questions you leave us. We also use these social media services to show advertising, which, in some cases, will be targeted to you based on your interests and demographic.

Responding to enquiries. If you contact us for any reason, we will use the data you provide us to respond to your query.

Mailing lists. We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our email newsletter. For legal and standard business reasons. Where the law requires it or where we believe it is necessary to protect our legal rights, interest and the interests of others, we use your personal data in connection with legal claims, compliance, regulatory and audit functions.

Who does Millercare share my information with?

Your personal data will be shared with companies providing service under contract to us for all the reasons described above, such as payment processing providers (e.g, Global Payments and PayPal), Delivery companies (e.g Royal Mail, TNT), manufacturers in the case of ordering an item for direct delivery by the manufacturer, Mark Bates Limited if you choose to take out Premier Care insurance or extended warranty.

Our data is backed up on a server each night and a rolling 7-day backup is stored. An off-site server backup is also held on a secure Amazon S3 Repository and also holds a 7-day rolling backup of data.

How long do we keep data for?

For Store & Online orders. We retain individual records about purchases and services for six years after the last recorded interaction you have with us. If the information you have provided us relates to any potential health and safety issue we may retain it longer as required by law.

Access to your personal information

Limitations. Your rights may be limited, for example if fulfilling your request would reveal personal data about another individual, or if you ask us to delete data which we are required by law or have compelling legitimate interests to keep.
