Fred Miller starts manufacturing & repairing bespoke wheelchairs
1952 - 1990
From 1952 to the late 1990s, the then Fred Millers started manufacturing and repairing bespoke wheelchairs. Among the contracts was the NHS.

The opening of Paddock Mill Centre
8th March 1991
Over the 40 years Fred Miller spent manufacturing and repairing bespoke chairs, the demand and enquiries from the general public were growing. On the 8th March 1991, Paddock Mill Centre opened and sold scooters and wheelchairs to the public. This site is now our Oswaldtwistle shop, the first of our showroom.

Millercare Blackpool Opens
28th October 1993
With the success of our Paddock Mill site, we decided to expand and Millercare was born. On the 28th October 1993 we were officially opened by Lancashire County Council.

Millercare Wigan Opens
2nd September 1991
Millercare was beginning to make a name for itself as a mobility shop and helping customers across the North West. With demand still growing, our Wigan shop was opened on the 2nd September 1996

Millercare Pendlebury Opens
22nd January 2001
During the early 2000's and the continued growth of Millercare, our Pendlebury shop was opened on the 22nd January 2001, allowing us to cover the Manchester areas.

Millercare Stockport Opens
20th April 2005
4 Years later, Millercare expanded again with the edition of our Stockport shop on the 20th April 2005.

Millercare Preston Fulwood Opens
19th June 2006
On the 19th June 2006 our Preston Fulwood shop opened. This helped the Millercare team in covering another area of the North West.

Millercare's Website Launch
July 2006
In July 2006 Millercare launched their very own website, taking orders from customers who couldn't get to our shop or lived outside the North West. We can be found on www.millercare.co.uk

Millercare Bolton Opens
8th May 2007
To help our Pendlebury shop cover the Manchester area, Millercare Bolton opened on the 8th May 2007. Prior to this Millercare Bolton used to be a bank.

Millercare Oldham Opens
1st November 2013
6 Years later Millercare opened up in Oldham on the 1st November 2013. Helping Bolton and Pendlebury covering a busy area for the Millercare team.

Millercare wins 'Fastest Growing Dealer' Award
2014
In 2014 Millercare was awarded the 'Fastest Growing Dealer' award from Sunrise Medical for our achievements throughout our branches.

Millercare Bury & Leyland Opens
8th April & 2nd November 2015
2015 was a busy year for the Millercare team opening not 1 but 2 shops. Our Bury shop, which used to be Blockbusters, opened on 8th April 2015. Followed by our Leyland shop, which used to be a travel agents, opened on the 2nd November 2015.

Certificate Of Excellence
21st October 2015
Millercare have been authorised Stannah Dealers for over 10 years and on the 21st October 2015 we were awarded a certificate of excellence.

Millercare Preston Deepdale Opens
3rd August 2016
Our second Preston shop, which used to be a wine shop, opened up in Deepdale on the 3rd August 2016, the Fulwood and Deepdale team now work closely together to serve the Preston community.

Millercare wins 'Best Customer Service' Award
2016
Millercare partnered with Motability to assist customers in getting a new powerchair or scooter for less. In 2016 we won our first Motability award for 'best customer service'

Millercare Heywood Opens
2nd May 2017
Our Heywood shop, previously a bank, opened officially on the 2nd May 2017. They joined Bolton, Bury, Pendlebury and Oldham in covering the Manchester side of the country.

Millercare Warrington Opens
15th May 2017
A bigger shop to cope with the demand in the Warrington area was needed. Our Warrington superstore opened on the 15th May 2017 and was attended by Warrington Wolves.

24th June 2017
Our newest Millercare shop (but certainly not our last) officially opened on the 24th June 2017 in Southport, helping our Warrington, Leyland and Wigan shop in covering further afield.

In 2018, Millercare were awarded their second award from Motability, this time in their 'highly commended' category.

Millercare celebrates 70 Years
Autumn - Winter 2022
On the 9th December 2022 Millercare will officially celebrate 70 Years as a business. This massive landmark was celebrated by all staff at our family fun day in September 2022.
