Why Correct Fit Matters for Incontinence Products

A well-fitting incontinence product helps ensure maximum protection, comfort, and discretion. Poor sizing can lead to leaking, irritation, rubbing, or the product feeling bulky and uncomfortable. A correct fit helps you stay confident, supported and comfortable throughout the day.

No matter which product you choose — pads, pull-ups, fixation pants or all-in-one slips — everything starts with two simple measurements.

How to Measure for the Perfect Fit

All you need is a soft measuring tape. Here’s how to measure accurately:

  • Waist: Measure around the narrowest point of the waist (usually above the belly button). Keep the tape flat and snug, but not tight.
  • Hips: Measure around the widest part of the hips, ensuring the tape stays level all the way round.
  • Choose sizing based on the larger of the two measurements.

Once you have these measurements, use the sizing charts below to find the right product.

Helpful Tips When Choosing Incontinence Products

  • The leg area must be snug for leak protection — looser sizes don’t improve absorbency.
  • Products that are too big can feel bulky and cause gaps, leading to leakage.
  • Products that are too small may cause irritation or discomfort.
  • If using fixation pants, choosing the wrong size means the pad won’t be held securely against the body.
