Both manual and electric wheelchairs have their pros and cons, and which one you decide to choose will depend on your own specific needs. Ease of use
Although electric wheelchairs can offer easier ease of use than a manual wheelchair can when it comes to portability and transportation, the manual wheelchair wins. It can be collapsed, easily stored and can be put under beds or cupboards when the time comes.
That being said, there are some electric wheelchairs that can be disassembled and stored as well. However, these may not be easily collapsed due to their weight and size, so consider how often you will need to transport it and or/collapse it before making a decision on the right wheelchair for you.

Between a manual and an electric wheelchair, an electric wheelchair will require more maintenance than a manual one. You will need to recharge the battery on a regular basis, and even replace the battery when needed.
