Compatibility with high temperature wash at 95° C is essential, when HipSavers are used in care homes or hospitals, where washing at high temperatures is a hygiene regulations requirement.

When washing HipSaver at home for private use, wash your HipSavers in the same way as your other personal garments.

HipSavers are compatible with incontinence protection, such as pads, diapers and personal inco pants.

How to measure for HipSaver size

The hip bone is actually at the top of the thigh bone and can bed felt on both sides of the body. Prominent trochanteric ball can be easily identified and located, when your fingertips are placed on the side of the hip. Whilst raising the knee slightly upwards, a movement of the underlying bone can be felt.

To ensure correct HipSaver fit, measure the body circumference over the trochanter hip bones - front to front and around. Compare the measurement with the size chart as presented above.  Note the measurement for a future use. If you have a large tummy, consider ordering the next size up.

Please note: The trochanteric area of the hip is where the hip fractures occur and in need of protection. The hip is not to be confused with the top of pelvic bone that is located much higher just under the waist and more towards the front of the body. The pelvic bone does not move, when the knee is raised.
